Central Park Residence

The client required a space to be used as an extension to his existing art gallery where he could entertain and impress clients and guests. This prewar-era apartment, located on Central Park East, directly across from Central Park, comprises 2 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms within 1900 sq. ft.

Plaster cover details were recreated to keep with the building’s original deco style. The original parquet flooring on the residence was carefully restored to preserve its authenticity. Custom millwork, a modern marble surround fireplace, a mantel, and lighting solutions were added to the home’s existing charm. The new lighting design suited the space well; also, it was imagined to be flexible enough to support the ever-changing gallery-like artwork in residence.

Tasteful, refined sophistication is how we envision the overall space look and feel. Juxtaposing the public areas of the apartment, the master suite was designed as a tranquil retreat, which introduced a challenge in layout to our design team. Yet difficult, once the demolition phase was completed, the construction and execution of the tranquil retreat-like master bedroom was fully embraced with a graceful addition of a large master bathroom.
